Privacy Policy
Learn about SubManager's data practices, usage and support contact.
Information you enter
SubManager helps you manually manage subscriptions, domains, and insurance records. Your device stores service names, amounts and currencies, billing and contract dates, registrars or insurers, groups, reminder preferences, payment method labels and optional last four digits, payment records, and price changes. Budget and payday settings are also stored on your device to present your plans.
You do not need a separate SubManager account. The app has no built-in advertising, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics SDK, or feature that sends these records to a server operated by us. Do not enter full payment card numbers, bank account numbers, passwords, identity documents, or unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields.
Optional iCloud sync
Pro users can enable sync. The app uses Apple CloudKit to store subscriptions, domains, insurance, related reminders, payment methods and histories, and budget and payday plans in your Apple account's private iCloud database for use on devices signed in to the same account. A CloudKit account identifier helps prevent syncing with the wrong account. The app does not receive your Apple account password.
You may need to confirm the first sync or resolve conflicting versions. Turning sync off stops future syncing; it does not delete existing local or iCloud data. Apple's services and storage management are subject to Apple's terms and privacy policy. This policy does not guarantee immediate sync or permanent recoverability.
Screenshot recognition
The system photo picker provides only the single image you select. Apple Vision performs text recognition on your device. The app does not upload the original image or full recognized text, or add them to the subscription database. You review the result; only fields you explicitly save become subscription data. Those saved fields can sync when iCloud sync is enabled. iOS manages the photo library and picker caches.
Reminders, widgets, and Siri or Shortcuts
Reminders are scheduled locally without our own push-notification server. Notifications, widgets, and shortcuts you run may display service names, dates, amounts, or summaries. Manage notification previews, widgets, and Siri in your iPhone settings as appropriate. The app shares a local snapshot with its own widget rather than exposing its regular database to other apps.
App Lock uses Face ID or your iPhone passcode. SubManager receives the authentication result, not your facial data or device passcode. App Lock does not replace the system privacy controls for notification previews and widgets.
Purchases and external links
Apple StoreKit processes Pro purchases and restoration. The app reads transaction verification results to confirm Pro access. We do not receive the full card number or security code used to pay the App Store. Payment method labels you manually record in SubManager are separate from Apple's purchase payment information.
Service templates and icons are bundled with the app. Browsing the catalog does not request images from service providers. Opening an official cancellation guide or another external link sends you to that website through the system. SubManager does not append your subscription amounts or other records to those links. External websites have their own privacy practices.
Export, retention, and deletion
You can edit or delete individual subscriptions and export subscription or payment records as CSV. An export may contain service names, amounts, dates, and payment method labels. You choose its destination using the system interface. Destination services may apply their own syncing and retention policies. SubManager does not send exports automatically.
Pausing or archiving retains records; it does not delete them. With sync enabled, a successful sync propagates deletion changes to your other devices. Necessary deletion markers and version information remain to prevent older records from reappearing and to resolve conflicts. An unresolved conflict may retain another version. Deleting the app, turning off sync, or losing Pro access does not erase iCloud, system backups, other devices, or exported copies. Contact support for current data-management guidance; do not assume that one action permanently erases all copies.
Support email and privacy requests
You can email support@submanager.me. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages to a Gmail mailbox used by the provider. Cloudflare and Google process sender addresses, message content, attachments and delivery information to provide forwarding, email and security services. Share only what is needed to address your request. Do not send passwords, complete bills or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Bo Wei Zhao personally handles support. Received information is used only to respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues and handle privacy requests, not for marketing. Messages are retained while a request is being handled and for no more than 12 months after resolution, and may be deleted sooner. The provider records the resolution date and regularly removes messages, attachments and separately saved copies under their control through a manual process. If applicable law requires retention of some information, the reason and period will be explained to you.
To request access, correction or deletion of support information, write from your original contact address where possible. Reasonable identity checks may be needed; we will not ask for your passwords. Deletion requests are normally answered within one calendar month of receipt, or sooner where applicable law requires a shorter period. If any information cannot be deleted, the reason and retention period will be explained. This is a manual process, not an automatic deletion feature in the app.
This process concerns support information under the provider's control. It does not remotely erase data on your device, in your private iCloud database, in exports or on other devices, or guarantee immediate erasure of provider-managed backups. Cloudflare and Google handle their service data under their own terms, privacy policies and retention processes.

TestFlight and policy updates
If you use TestFlight, Apple may provide feedback and diagnostic information to the developer under its testing service and your choices. This is separate from the app's built-in data flows.
We update this policy when features or data practices change and show the effective date of the published version. Use the contact listed on this page for privacy or data-management questions.
